The number of refugees and displaced people in the world now exceeds 59.5 million for the first time since World War II. If all these people decided to establish a state, it would be the 26th most populous country on the planet. They would be the citizens of the Land of the Invisibles , in which everyone shares a story that always begins the same way: a desperate escape with the clothes they were wearing, their only belongings. The main cause is the intensification of conflicts, especially in South Sudan, Syria and the Central African Republic. The lucky ones accompany it with some sorghum, peanuts... They have nothing else. Nyantuc Kuong, 37 years old, a widow with 3 children, of Nuer ethnicity, fled last April from the attack on her village in Unity state. They stole all her belongings and burned the houses.

South Sudan is currently facing a food security crisis.
The UN estimates that more than 4.6 million people will suffer from acute hunger by the end of July. The conflict and displacement of the population have prevented them from cultivating their fields. Many people cannot eat every day and are being forced to sell the little they have to get food. The country is in a spiral of economic free fall : high prices of food, fuel and a constant increase in the cost of living. Syria With a war that seems to have no end, Syrians who have managed to flee the conflict face increasingly difficult conditions in host countries . International humanitarian aid has been vital in meeting their basic needs, such as water and sanitation, food and shelter. However, life options remain limited. Those refugees who have exhausted all their savings now depend on international cooperation or are forced to adopt survival strategies such as early marriage or labor exploitation. As most refugees live in informal settlements or precarious shelters for which they have to pay rent, the situation for many people is dire and they need ongoing help. Central African Republic Currently, 2.7 million people in the country, out of a total population of 4.6 million, need humanitarian assistance.
