As I've mentioned, one of my primary time and money wasters is in the making of Sock Monkeys. The monkeys I make tend less towards the red-heeled versions and more toward the funky and pop-culture referencing. For an example, you can see my profile pic- Watson Monkey! Steampunk monkeys would be so much fun: they sell tiny top hats and glasses at Michaels and other craft stores. I've taught classes before, and would love to do so again. Lord Comissar suggested, if people are interested, we could host a class before Christmas, for monkeys do make great gifts! Hand sewing experience would be awesome, but is certainly not required. The socks I have for classes tend to be bright verging on neon, so maybe we can talk about socks to bring before the class. Argyle? Mustaches? I've been saving these key socks for a Steampunk Mon-key for a while now.

I think this needs to happen! Like now! Let's set a date and make an event. If less than 10 people, I would be willing to host, if more than that we'll need a bigger boat.

Awesome! We could also host if needed (though I don't think we can have more than 10 either!) Should we aim for sooner- this month or early October- or later, like early November?

At the meeting today we decided that Sunday afternoons work the best for classes. So either Sunday November 9th or November 16th at my apartment. Preference? My first thoughts are 11/9, with the back up of 11/16 if weather is shitty.
I'll provide instruction, sewing supplies (unless you have your own you prefer!), socks if you don't have them, and accessories. The class took about 3 hours last time I taught it, but that was to pre-teens with no sewing experience.
